The mountain project!

Post by NicTheFifth » Sun Jul 23, 2017 5:35 am

So I wish to redo the mountains that are west of Skyrim (Between Markarth and Solitude).

So making this mountains I will first remove part of the original mountains and turning an excess amount to sand, then I start planning the peaks and valleys.

Now the planning is done I will start to make the mountains themselves following this guide:https://www.mcmiddleearth.com/threads/m ... post-29761
Also I will have a valley where the auriel place is.

If this becomes my project, please don't work on it without my permission!

Sounds cool. The Reach's terrain could use some improvements.

Hi Nic,

Sounds like a good idea. I know the mountains around Markarth are a bit lackluster.

My question is, what's your goal with the mountain change? Are you making the mountains taller or more dramatic/visually appealing? I'm assuming from the overlay you posted that you're going to try and make the mountains look more like the ones ingame, is that correct?

Other than those concerns of mine, I think you're good to work on this.

The main focus will be to make it shaped a bit more acurately, then it is to make it more appealing to the eye and finaly it is to make them higher, which is also more appealing.
